AI Agent

AI agent

A system that observes an environment, decides on an action, and carries it out using digital tools. Unlike a chatbot (which only converses) or RPA (which only executes a fixed workflow), an agent combines reasoning and action: it can read an email, query an API, update a CRM, and reply—all in the same task.

When should I use AI agent at a company?

Processes with multiple steps, available digital tools, supervised tolerance for errors, and measurable value per execution. Examples: ticket triage, processing emails with nonstandard attachments, and reconciliation with exceptions.

When is it NOT a good idea AI agent?

Deterministic tasks with fixed rules (RPA is better) or simple queries with no follow-up action (a chatbot or assistant is better). Agents cost more to maintain than either option.
