How to tell whether AI is already recommending your practice
A simple, repeatable method to audit for yourself, today, what ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity say when a patient asks about a specialist like you.

Before investing a peso in visibility, it’s worth knowing where you stand. The good news: anyone with access to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity can conduct the initial audit. Here’s what we review in an assessment, step by step.
# Step 1 · Ask the way a patient would
Use natural, nontechnical language, and vary the wording for each engine:
- “Who’s the best [specialty] in [your city]?”
- “Recommend a trusted [specialty] in [your city] for [condition].”
- “Which [specialist] would be right for me for [procedure] in [your city]?”
# Step 2 · Note three things, not just whether you appear
Go beyond yes or no and record the quality of the mention:
- Do you appear? your name, your practice, or no one in particular.
- Are the details correct? specialty, location, and focus accurately described, or is the information outdated or incorrect.
- Who else shows up? your direct competitors in that area — this tells you who you’re competing against for attention.
# Step 3 · Cross-check with Google and Maps
Repeat the search on Google and check the Maps section. If you’re not among the top 3 local results or in AI responses, you have a visibility gap that potential patients are already noticing — by choosing someone else.
# How to read the results
| What you see | What it means | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| You don’t appear on any engine | AI doesn’t have enough evidence about you | High |
| You appear with incorrect information | There are inconsistent sources to correct | High |
| You appear, but your competitors dominate | You’re there, but competitors are winning in your area | Medium |
| You appear prominently and near the top | Maintenance and monitoring | Low |
# Frequently asked questions
# Why does AI give me outdated or incorrect information?
Because it found outdated or contradictory sources. Correcting and consolidating that information is one of the first things we work on.
# I ran the test and I do show up. Does that mean I don’t need anything?
Maybe not urgently. But visibility isn’t permanent: models change, competitors enter the picture, and information gets outdated. If you’re already showing up, the work is to maintain that visibility.
